Google Search Console:
What it does
Google Search Console shows how your website performs in Google Search. It tells you what keywords you show up for, how many people click, which pages are indexed, and it alerts you to SEO issues Google finds.
How to set it up
- Go to https://search.google.com/search-console and sign in.
- Click “Add property.”
- Choose one of these property types:
- Domain (best overall, includes all versions of your site)
- URL prefix (easier setup, but limited to the exact URL format)
- Follow the verification steps. The most common verification methods are:
- DNS record (Domain property)
- HTML tag meta verification (URL prefix property)
What you need
Please choose the “HTML tag” verification method and send me:
- The meta tag line that Google gives you (it will look like a chunk of code with
content="...")
Example format:
<meta name="google-site-verification" content="YOURCODEHERE" />

Alternative options:
- If you use the DNS method, you need to confirm once the DNS record is added and verified.
- If you choose the HTML file upload method, you will need the verification file Google provides.
Extra helpful (optional but great):
- After Search Console is verified, submit your sitemap.
How to add into Showit
- On your homepage, over in the page settings (on the right) click on “Advanced Settings”
- Click on “Custom Head HTML”
- Paste in the tag
- Publish your site
- Click verify from Google Search Console

How to set it up
- Go to https://www.hotjar.com and create an account.
- Add a new Site.
- Enter your website URL and complete the setup steps.
- Hotjar will generate a tracking code for your site.
- Make sure the site status shows it is ready to track once installed.
What to send me
Your Hotjar Site ID (if shown)
